Yerba Mate (pronounced Yer-ba Mar-tay) is a South American plant that is drunk traditionally in tea form throughout South America.
Similar to a green tea plant except it has a higher concentration of antioxidants and caffeine. As a result of this combination consumers get a prolonged energy hit rather than a spike then drop like experienced with coffee.
